Accessing desired websites on the internet through a web browser is easier in the contemporary world. All of you access numerous websites in your personal as well as professional life. Sometimes, accessing websites becomes irritating for you. Your frustration gets worse when you see a message stating This Site Can’t Be Reached on your PC screen. This message states that your web browser made an effort to establish a connection to a website, but the connection to the website is unsuccessful due to any reason. You need to sort out this to keep accessing the website. Here are some quick fixes for for your support:

Switch off and on your internet connection

Step 1: Disconnect the power cable of your internet router. 

Step 2: Wait for a minute or more. 

Step 3: Plug in the power cable and wait until it is back and the internet connection is reset. 

Step 4: Try accessing the website.  

Clear cache and cookies of your web browser 

Step 1: Go to the three-dot menu of your web browser. 

Step 2: Choose Settings, and then, Privacy and Security. 

Step 3: Tap on Clear Browsing data after selecting the requisite options like cookies and Cached Images and Files. Do not forget to choose a time range (All, Past 24 Hours, etc.) Some steps may vary based on your web browser settings.

Change DNS servers

  • Think about configuring the DNS servers your ISP assigns you by default. 

For changing it on Windows PC

  1. Go to the Control Panel, Network and Internet, and Network and Sharing Center.
  2. After that, choose Change Adapter Settings. 
  3. Choose Properties after right-clicking on the existing internet connection.
  4. Choose internet protocol Version 4 (IPv4/TCP) and click on Properties again.
  5. Type a custom DNS server in the two fields after checking the box prior to Use the Following DNS Server Address. 
  6. Now click on OK.  

For Mac desktop/laptop

  1. Go to System Preferences and Network. 
  2. Click on Advanced after choosing your network. 
  3. Move to the DNS option
  4. Click on OK after typing your desired DNS address. 

Disable Antivirus and Firewall temporarily 

  • Go to Settings after clicking on the Start button (Windows icon). 
  • Move to Windows Security after selecting Update and Security. 
  • After that, Choose Virus & Threat Protection.

Step 1: Go to System Preferences

Step 2: Choose Security & Privacy

Step 3: Select Firewall and tick the checkbox next to Firewall Off. 

Remove DNS Cache 

Step 1: Press the R and Windows keys together. 

Step 2: Click on OK after typing cmd in the dialogue box. The Command Prompt will appear on your screen. 

Step 3: Type the command – Enter:ipconfig /flushdns – in the dialogue box and press the Enter key. It will make your system clear the DNS cache.
